Stock T-Maxx Tire Cutting

If you are wondering how to get more traction out of your stock Maxx tires, heres how. Well one day I was bored off my mind and had a ruined stock Maxx tire that I had accidentaly tore trying to get off the rim to put on my new Maxx Mashers. Well anyways, I had heard of some people talking about making grooves in the tread kinda like a Masher. Well I as I sat there wondering how I could make it better, I found some sissors and began cutting.

First I had cut every other tread on one side until I had gotten all the way around the tire. After I got done with the one side I held it out like if it were on a rim and it looked TIGHT. So I wondered what it would look like with both sides cut the same way. I was off cutting every other tread on the other side. Got done and wasn't impressed by the way they looked because of the little lip that was left over so i broke out my Dremel tool and sanding drum and began sanding. Within 5 mins, I couldn't see halfway across my room it was so smoky and it set off a Fire alarm NOT GOOD. I waited til the next day so I could do it outside. After I had got done sanding them all down which was about 1hr to 1hr and a half later it was looking pretty good.

At the time I didn't have all four Maxx tires so I got online and my friend Doug was on he had an E-maxx and I knew he had the stock Maxx tires. So I got to talking to him and asked him if he wanted to see if it would give him more traction by cutting the treads,  he ended up wanting to try it. I showed him the tire I cut and sanded and he wanted me to do it to his tires. The next day I was off cutting his tires I sanded them down to make them look good. I got his truck back to him and he tried them. He couldn't believe the grip it had, so much traction that he couldn't keep the front end down! They acted as paddles except not NEAR as much damage to his wallet.

Well my friend Chris ended up seeing them and wondered if it would work on the Stampede tires. I cut them and they looked pretty good. So I broke out his dremel and had them done in an hour. He got out his electric homemade puller truck and they were hooking up pretty well. He had'nt glued them to the rim so I pulled them off and threw them on my RC10GT and it was AMAZING. I had never known you could get that much traction. Every time I punched the throttle it was wheeling.  Before I left his house I ended up cutting his brothers N. Pede tires.

If you want some gripping tires that won't cost a bunch send'em my way and I will get you hooked up. If i ruin one of your tires, I will work a deal out with you. I have cut 6 sets of tires so far and haven't had one complaint about them.
